About Us 

The Suez & Red Sea Chamber of Shipping was established in conformity with the Ministerial Decree No 30/1999. Since its establishment, it performs its duties towards serving the Egyptian maritime transport industry and maritime community that are part of the international maritime industry and community.

 

The Chamber, as a non-profit organization, is a forum that aims at collecting, classifying and disseminating specialized information, data, and news within the fields of commerce, navigation, maritime transport industry and port services to members in Egypt and to the international shipping chambers in line with international usages, systems, rules and applicable in Egypt.

It also holds meetings for discussing and comparing notes regarding important issues that pertain to maritime activities and developments. The Chamber invites the specialized experts who are well-versed in the maritime economy and navigational backgrounds discuss the prominent issues and cases.

The Chamber builds up good communication channels with all competent authorities and bodies with view to conveying the opinions and points of view of the members concerning the course of events in their fields of business.

The Chamber discusses the draft laws and decrees referred to it by the competent authorities for consulting the members on the feasibility of their issuance and application in the fields of maritime transport activities.

The Chamber provides professional and social services to its members. It also discusses and examines the ways of developing their business for upgrading the level of their services in order to turn the Egyptian ports into centres of excellence and international competitive bases.

It holds training courses for members and their employees to keep them well-informed of the latest developments, innovations and expectations in the field of the maritime transport industry all over the world.
